Black Sox Team Rules

ATTENDANCE

The significance of attendance cannot be emphasized enough.  It is important that every player shows to games and practices punctually and prepared to play.  One player showing late to a game or not showing at all can affect the other fourteen players on the team. ALL GAMES ARE MANDATORY!  YOU MUST ARRIVE TO EVERY GAME AN HOUR EARLY READY TO WIN! Of course we are all grown adults with things going on in our personal lives such as work, family obligations, etc.  If you cannot attend a game you must contact the team manager at least 48 hours before gametime. PRACTICES ARE USUALLY HELD ONCE A WEEK AND ARE NOT MANDATORY...but it is to your and the team's benefit that you show to as many practices as possible.  Contacting your manager will not be necessary if you cannot attend a practice.

SPORTSMANSHIP

As we all know we all put on a Black Sox uniform with the desire to play well and help the team win.  But regardless of our success, we should realize that winning doesn't mean everything, and our main objective in playing here is to have fun.  Team chemistry is very important to a successful and enjoyable experience.  Getting along with teammates and even oposing teams are two essential ingredients of good sportsmanship.  Verbal confrontation or fighting with teammates, oposing players and umpires will not be tolerated on the Black Sox and disciplanary action will be taken in the event these instances occur...which may result in a suspension or termination from the team and possibly a fine from the league.  Remember, our friends and family come to our games to cheer for us and watch a baseball game, not a boxing match.
